Launchpoint

Senior Software Engineer, Backend

New York, NY · $150,000-$250,000 · Full-time

About the company

Launchpoint helps brands pay everyday creators to make short-form videos about their products on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, and runs those campaigns at a scale no one else can. The New York team of about 20 already works with 300+ companies, mostly venture-backed or enterprise brands spending $20K to $500K a month on creators, including Uber, Capital One, Kalshi, Dr Pepper, and Higgsfield. It has grown 200 to 300% month over month for the last five months. About half of people's attention now goes to creators, while creators get about 2% of global ad spend, and running these programs is still mostly manual.

The platform handles a campaign from start to finish: finding creators, briefing them, reviewing their videos, tracking views, turning top videos into paid ads, and paying creators. Its AI screens creators on the content they actually post and matches them to each brand from a pool of 160,000+ verified creators. Creators post five to seven times a week on accounts dedicated to the brand and get paid by the view. More than 50 brands each passed 100 million views in a single month for under $3 per thousand views. Because pay is tied to views, every video is checked for faked or bought views before money moves, and Launchpoint blocked more than $500K in fraudulent payouts in one month. Higgsfield alone runs 1,000+ creators on the platform, with 530 million+ views.

The CEO came from Deutsche Bank. The CTO came from Shopify. Seed stage, about 11 to 50 people, founded in 2025, in New York.

About the role

Launchpoint is hiring a senior backend engineer to own core systems on a very small engineering team that carries the company. More than 160,000 creators, demanding brands, and real money moving every week depend on that work being right. The problems hit at once: scale, correctness, people trying to game the system with fake views, and speed. Most have no playbook. There is no ticket queue. You own large parts of the platform, from first design through production.

You build for volume that grows every month, where a wrong number costs someone real money. You work on messy data, fraud, and infrastructure that has to hold under load. You use AI where it changes what a small team can do. You set the bar for architecture, code quality, and shipping speed. You also work with customers and decide what gets built, not only how.

Bar: about 2 to 5 years building and running production backend systems. Exceptional TypeScript, used across the stack, with React Native on mobile. Depth in data modeling and making systems fast and correct at scale. A record of taking ambiguous problems to production with little oversight. High standards and high speed at the same time, and product judgment about whether what you shipped moved a number for a customer. The strongest fit is a backend engineer from adtech, a marketplace, or a payments product, from a fast-growing startup or a high-scale team, who has worked where money or trust was on the line. Shipped AI features that real users depend on are a plus. TypeScript only on the frontend, needing a spec, being fast but sloppy, or having no production ownership are misses. Any past or current association with Sideshift is a miss.

In office in New York. Visa sponsorship is not available. Equity is about 0.5% to 1%. Unlimited PTO and health insurance. Posted work intensity is 9-9-5. The process is an intro call, then a paid in-person work trial.
