Insurance Customer Service Rep (Remote OK)

Menlo is an AI-powered insurance brokerage that has automated the back office of a traditional brokerage with proprietary models fine-tuned in production. It is handling more than $1M in premium and projecting about $1M ARR within roughly three months. The industry is huge, fragmented, and still run on email, phone calls, and paper.

The founder started about six months ago helping friends insure fertilizer shipments from Mexico to China, saw how hard it is to find carriers and build compliant policies for niche commercial risks, and built the brokerage from scratch. Pre-seed, about 1 to 10 people, founded in 2026, in San Francisco.

Menlo is hiring a licensed insurance customer service rep to turn warm inbound leads into bound policies. People start quotes on Menlo's sites and do not finish, or they need more information, or they need to be guided toward a compliant product. You call them, move the quote forward, and bind it through the platform. There is no admin grind and no CRM data entry. That work is automated. The job is persuading warm leads on the phone, not cold calling.

Success is annualized premium closed. At a minimum, quotes closed should match or exceed the salary. The founder judges on recorded calls, not industry-standard close rates. You follow up for missing information, steer people toward a compliant product, and take ownership of accounts as more of the workflow gets automated.

Bar: a licensed broker or rep, earlier in career, a proven closer, still hungry. A CISR designation is preferred. You know commercial and personal lines: applications, quotes, certificates, endorsements, renewals, carrier portals, and agency software. Native or fluent English and a warm, trustworthy phone presence. You close warm inbound, follow up with customers and carriers, and you catch missing information, duplicates, and inconsistencies. Comfortable with AI tools. Unlicensed, no closing background, a weak phone presence, or too senior are misses.

Remote is fine. Visa sponsorship is not available. Commission on top of the posted base. Experience they have in mind is about 1 to 5 years. The process is a screen on day-to-day work and licensing, then a live sales role-play on converting a warm lead.
