Founding Engineer

TradeForm builds a proactive AI workforce for direct procurement. The product covers the bill of materials, suppliers, multi-tier risk (about 10 risk types), should-cost, quoting, negotiation, purchase orders, and follow-through until the parts arrive. Agent Tim works across risk, orders, sourcing, and reporting. The stack already talks to about 100 systems: ERP, MES, PLM, email, Slack, Teams, WhatsApp, and iMessage.

Three co-founders (one ex-NASA) started the company around November 2025 and incorporated in February 2026. They are already closing enterprise contracts up to about $1M, with room to expand toward about $5M. Seed stage, about 1 to 10 people, founded in 2026. The team works onsite in Mission Bay, San Francisco.

This is a full-stack, backend-leaning founding engineer seat. You own features from the first customer conversation through deployment, including agent workflows, evals, harnesses, and guardrails, plus the data schemas for procurement and ERP data.

You also own an enterprise relationship, a Sierra-style one person or team per customer, on roughly 2-month proofs of concept.

Bar: fluent in one of Python, TypeScript, Java, or C++, with a modern backend (Next.js, FastAPI, Postgres) and cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Strong CS fundamentals. You have worked with LLMs, agents, tool use, and evals. A good eye for design is a plus. They want exceptional new grads through about 2 to 4 years. Competitive programming, olympiad, or quant backgrounds, and ex-founders who tried and it did not work out, are the archetypes. In person in San Francisco. No visa sponsorship.
